Bojack struggles a lot with the relationships around him as a result of a bad childhood. Princess Carolyn has always been around to help him. However, this comes at the cost of her sanity and time. Bojack is always caught up in his own affairs while Princess Carolyn has no choice but to watch from afar as her ex continues to ruin his life. She's disappointed but concerned. The choice of the pop art style comes from their relationship being history and nothing more since they will never work out.
