A Shaded Space

My intention behind the design of this piece was to evoke a feeling of a place of rest and balance. The entry features a half circle which radiates upward to lead the eye toward the movable shade. The shade is functional and can be pulled to either side, allowing for a shaded area throughout the entire day. I created the shade in a half circle, and in front of it another half circle in the opposite direction. Two of the sides feature a horizontal design along with a radiating element that leads the eye around to the duplicate radiating half circle.
