El Morcajetito
Acrylic paint
ART 189 - Metzger
This work was inspired by my mom Aurelia Hernandez. Her way of showing love is through cooking. As a Mexican woman a Morcajete is essential to grind spices and garlic, a key ingredient in Mexican cuisine. This is a a small Morcajete she gave me to teach and pass on tradition. I love you mom.

My father passed away March 2020. I since then doubt the idea of an afterlife. However, if there is such thing I picture our passed loved ones greeting us in a cosmic nature based utopia. Until we meet again, if you still exist dad.
