Being Koi
Gouache
art 118 - smith
This was created using the split complementary colors of blue, orange-red and Orange-yellow. The green was created by mixing blue with a light Orange-yellow. The design I was playing with was a cross between fancy goldfish, Koi fish and the ribbon fish from the movie "Fantasia".

We Must Take Sides
Air dry clay, wire, cardboard, Ribbon, photos, Mod Podge
art 160 - Mccauley
"We must take sides" is my response to the growing hate and division in this country. Inspired by the quote from author Elie Wiesel, this sculpture illustrates the dangers of turning a blind eye to hate, not speaking out about injustice and not listening to people when they say our inaction is hurting them. The photos are of people who have been killed or injured through no fault other than the color of their skin, the origin of their birth, being born not feeling right in their skin, or just being at the wrong place at the wrong time.
