My Beautiful Friend is a portrait of someone I admire immensely. My friendship with them began when we realized that we couldn't be in a relationship. Learning to love them from a distance was difficult, but I'm more than grateful that they have stayed in my life. The flower depicted is a bearded iris, a flower I believe that you must get up close to see its magnificence. Now, whenever I see this flower, it reminds me of how our friendship started. Their beauty drew me in, but their heart is what made me stay.
